I have been one of the Delaware Valley’s most respected storytellers and performers for children ten and under for over 25 years and am a specialist in participation stories for children 7 and under. However I work with all ages and have been highly effective with older children and adults. I have performed for and taught other storytellers at national and regional conferences, and have done well over 3,000 performances (including music/storytelling sessions for preschools) in my career. I have done the prestigious state of Delaware Library tour, was twice selected as the “traveling show” for Bucks County libraries and in 1990 did half the entire Montgomery County system in one summer. I also have performed at several renowned local festivals including several appearances at the Appel Farm festival in Elmer New Jersey and the Philadelphia Folk Festival. I also produced and performed adult concerts at several locations.
At the start of my career I created and performed a six week program for the Please Touch Museum called “The Magical Land of Holiday Giants”.
My style with children is to weave stories, music with guitar, some magic, movement and comedy into a diverse program that has been consistent in managing the attention of my audiences. In some of the following pages I have collected a strong set of references and credits.
I also teach music classes for young children, from 16 months to 6 years old. I blend the same elements as above, primarily music with guitar, an interactive story, (often musical), with 3 and older, movement activities, and rhythm instruments. I like to follow seasonal and holiday themes as we move through the year. Classes generally run a half hour and can be school sponsored or enrichment paid by parents.
